A year ago, I officially became a volunteer mentor to a sometimes shy but always sparkly 11-year-old girl named Makhia. We get together a couple of times a month and talk about her dreams, aspirations and apprehensions, explore new places and activities, and have a lot of fun. The experience has been incredibly rewarding for both of us.
Ann Bancroft Foundation is a wonderful resource for you to live your dream and reach your full potential! Since 1997, the Foundation has awarded Dare to Dream and Let Me Play Grants to more than 3,000 Minnesota girls—connecting them to mentors, funding and encouragement to help them reach for their highest goals. The Foundation provides grants to girls ages 5 through high school graduation to realize a dream. Visit http://www.annbancroftfoundation.org/
